This month was particularly a wonderful month for First Fridays. Even though it was at the beginning of a holiday weekend, there were still many people out and about to enjoy the food, music, and Art.
I met up with a group of 12 to enjoy Sushi at Nara at 16th and Main. From there we started our walking tour of the Crossroads district.
The Blue Gallery's featured artists were Doug Smith, Nick Haney and Stephanie Dinsmore. Something for everyone, painting, encaustic work and pottery sculpture. From there, off to The Kemper Museum to view photography by Jamie Warren. Then to the Leedy Vaulkos Art Center.
While Sara, Ashley, Melissa, Brent and I were viewing the art, the other group lead by Patrick and Troy were entertaining guests from Wichita and Newton who drove up for the occasion.
A great time listening to the street music, fire dancers, and people watching.
And of course, as in First Friday's tradition, it would not be complete without a visit to Christophe Elbow for their wonderfully crafted and designed chocolates. This month I had the curry banana my favorite.
Please, I employ you, take a trip to Christopher Elbow, you will be glad you tried their creations.
